National Park of the EastBREAKING NEWS: The Minister of the Environment today accused Chamber of Deputies Environment Commission president Mario Jose Fernandez Saviñón and deputy Sergio Cedeño of lying and seeking to conceal particular interests, by promoting a bill aimed at modifying the Protected Areas Law, to allegedly take over the beaches and establish new borders in the National Park of the East.
Jaime David Fernandez Mirabal said he stated his opposition to the bill on two occasions and both deputies alleged that his agency hadn’t responded.
He also affirmed that the town Boca de Yuma isn’t part of that National Park and that Cedeño and Fernandez Saviñon, both members of the opposition PRSC party, have also confused the community.
In a press conference the official challenged those legislators to clarify what their interests are, which led them to urge other deputies to vote for a bill of « deceit » and for saying that Environment never issued a response to the first draft.
